This book is deeply personal to me. It is inspired by my real-life daughter, Ama, who was born and lives in Ghana — a living reminder that our past, present, and future are forever intertwined across the Atlantic. Watching her grow in the land of our ancestors has awakened in me a renewed sense of purpose: to build bridges of light between our worlds, just as Ama and Malik do in these pages.
